"Zip + 4 + 2 Bar Code sort"

The following information applies to the United States only. Other countries are sorted by Postal Code only.

The zip code fields are set up for the new "Zip + 4 + 2" coding. The last two digits are the "Carrier Route Distribution Code." It consists of the last two digits of the address. Example:

Assume the address is 1234 Main Street and the Zip Code was 90124-1257. You would enter the Zip Code as 90124-1257-34, where the 34 is the last two digits of the address.

The mailing labels will only show the Zip + 4 code however the Bar Code will include the last two digits if you have entered it in the Zip Code field. In October of 1996 there were new regulations covering the Bulk Rate sorting for non-profit organizations. The old categories of 50 states and then Mixed States has been replaced with "ADC's" and "Mixed ADC's". Instead of sorting by 50 States you will now have to sort by several hundred ADC locations. LODGEiCAL tm sorts according this newest of the Postal Service machinations and prints the labels already properly sorted for you.
